Clarke and the Himselfs and Friends officially formed in 2014 in Boise, Idaho playng their first show with Clarke Howell on Drums, Guitar and Vocals, Demmi Netson on Drums, Rex Arnold on Organ, and Otis Crook (Braided Waves) and William Bendler (Bimsclix Atrolla) on Vocals. This line-up had earlier echoes from 2011 when Demmi Netson accompanied Clarke on the first shows where she played the drums, guitar, and sang all at the same time. And Friends, originally thought of as a kind of Crazy Horse and meant to be a separate incantation to the singular and deconstructed Clarke and the Himselfs, would take on a dark, washed-out, psychadelic, tribal atmosphere with spontaneous and chaotic, dysfunctional family type live shows that would routinely feature Brett Netson (Caustic Resin, Built to Spill, Earth) on guitar, synth, and drums. 'Clarke and the Himselfs and Friends' is the 2nd full length vinyl release by Clarke and the Himselfs, This time "and Friends." Longstanding Boise, ID Psych/Underground figure Clarke Howell and long time friends from the early 2000's Boise under-ground house show scene come through here with an album release on Scavenger Cult. These are true low-down freak kids of the time and place, not some proper"indie", hyper self-aware/professional type scene.
